2026 Series Crew Participation Initiative

For the 2026 season, the sailing committee are excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at encouraging greater participation in four selected races Joint keelboat series: Race 1, Race 2, Race 5, and Race 6. Our goal is to see more boats crewed by two or more sailors, helping to build teamwork, inclusivity, and a stronger community spirit on the water.

To support this, the club Sonatas will be available for free charter, and we warmly encourage families, friends, and acquaintances to come together and take part. We would also love to see our regular crewed boats on the start line with one additional crew member where possible. The club's crew module will be used to help match sailors and boats throughout the series.

Further details on how this initiative will operate will be finalised and shared during the first quarter of 2026.

Rating Requirements

All boats taking part will require a 2026 AREA/YTC rating:

To ensure smooth preparation of the scoring system, please email a copy of your 2026 YTC certificate to WMYCsailing@gmail.com no later than seven days before your race.
