May Regatta (11-12 May) Many thanks to those skippers that have already entered the event. However, I have heard a number of skippers saying they intend to race, and as we all know, a healthy number of early entries encourages others to enter. Therefore, I would request that, if you are going to enter any (or all) the races please enter now. Entry to the event is now open online and on the club noticeboard. Following the Long Distance Race on the Saturday, food will be available once crews are ashore. There will be a prize giving event on the Sunday once everyone is ashore from the Ancient Mariners Race.

Sonata Class Racing Calling all Sonata skippers and crews, in case you have missed it in the Sailing Programme, this season, there is an eight Race Sonata Series over four Saturdays - first race day is 25 May. The start and finish will be around the Molliette Beacon, look out for details in the next few weeks - all Sonatas welcome. Within the event the WMYC, DSC and Colne Yacht Club will competing for the Blackwater Gauntlet. There will also be prizes for first, second and third place in the series. This is a new event to the Sailing programme and the three clubs are hoping for good turnout.

WMYC Sonata Work is underway to prepare 'Scherzo' for the season and I hope to have the boat in the water by the end of the April. I am still looking for volunteers skippers, particularly those with Sonata experience, to get involved with the project; if this is you please contact me direct.
